One year to the day after breaking ground, McLaren-Flint opened its $8 million Hospitality House with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, tours of the facility, a building dedication and video presentation highlighting the mission of the three-story 43,000 square-foot structure at 3170 Beecher Road. It is located next door to McLaren’s new $70 million Proton Therapy Center opening later this year.
This colorful sitting room is one of several public rooms throughout the three-story home where guests can relax, wait for rides or use for small support group meetings.
A Conference Wing features this large auditoriums that can seat up to 108 or be split into smaller rooms. It is equipped with audio/visual equipment for small or large meetings or movie nights. It also has a prep room for small catering needs. The auditorium was used to seat guests for the grand opening program. It has a separate outside entrance to safeguard the privacy of house guests when they arrive in a few weeks.
The Gathering room located on the garden level provides a central area for guests to interact, watch television or view or access the outdoor area. It is adjacent to the kitchen and dining area.
The main kitchen comprises four full-sized residential kitchens where guests can prepare their own meals and also have an assigned cupboard in an adjacent pantry for food storage. It also as an adjacent large casual dining area and a smaller private dining room that seats 10 and is intended to be used for birthdays and other small celebrations.
An outdoor area offers a variety of seating and grills, a water fountain, herb garden and gazebo overlooking a pond.
A Children’s Playroom provides an inviting space designed for younger guests and is next door to a family-oriented game room. A fitness room, laundry area, private mailboxes, arts and crafts room, library and resident manager apartment are among many other house amenities designed to fulfill the mission of creating “a home away from home’’ for guests.
One guest wing features bedrooms with wood floors to accommodate pet owners. In total, the house has two studio guest rooms for solo guests or a couple staying for a short time; 22 standard guest rooms featuring two queen beds, a small sitting area, desk, television and private bathroom, and eight guests suites intended for larger families who need more space. Suites are equipped with a sleeper sofa, microwave and small refrigerator, separate living room type area in addition to the standard room features.
