MUNDY TWP. — Area residents can help improve the new Mundy Miracle Commons park while memorializing a loved one or showing their family’s support for the community and the outdoors.
Sponsorships of benches and picnic tables, complete with nameplates designating the donation, now are available through the township supervisor’s office.
The benches and wheelchair accessible picnic tables will be placed throughout the park and along the two-mile walking trail that winds through a wooded area in the recreational venue located on Hill Road.
The 6-foot benches and 8-foot tables are made of durable composite material and will be provided by Michigan Fence Co. All benches and tables will be grey in order to be welcoming but not imposing in the natural surroundings.
Each comes with a brass sponsor nameplate.
The cost for benches is $1,500; tables cost $2,500.
For more information or to purchase a bench or picnic table, call the supervisor’s office at 810-655-4631, ext. 260, or email tonya.ketzler@ mundytwp-mi.gov.
The 100-acre Mundy Miracle Commons opened over the winter. The park currently offers a walking/biking trail, and plans include constructing a Miracle League accessible baseball field, public art installations, a sledding hill, additional ballfields, an amphitheater and public events.
