Metro PD to host open house on National Night Out

MUNDY TOWNSHIP — The Metro Police Authority of Genesee County will host an open house in recognition of National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the headquarters, 5420 Hill/23 Drive.

Representatives from the Swartz Creek Area Fire Department and Mundy Township Fire Department, ATF, local ambulance/paramedic services and Crime Stoppers will be on hand, as will police K-9s and therapy dogs. An air rescue helicopter is scheduled to land at 7 p.m.

Metro officers will provide tours of the building and answer questions.

Food and refreshments will be available.

The open house will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

National Night Out is a nationwide event that promotes police-community partnerships. Started in 1984, National Night Out now encompasses hundreds of police agencies in all 50 states. — L.R.
