Metro Police to host open house

Metro Police Authority Officer Ken Szmansky helps a youngster try out some of the department’s riot gear at the 2018 police department open house. Following on the heels of a highly successful event last year, the Metro Police Authority of Genesee County will host its 2nd annual open house at the headquarters building on Hill 23 Drive off Hill Road in Mundy Township. The open house will take place from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 21. Refreshments, popcorn and hot dogs will be served. Officers will conduct building tours, and visitors will have opportunities to meet the officers, K9s and therapy dogs, and to check out the police cruisers and other equipment, such as the riot gear. All ages are welcome.
