DAVISON — After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the Miss Davison Scholarship Pageant is back.

Ten young women are vying for the title of Miss Davison 2022 in the Miss Davison Scholarship Pageant.

This year the Pageant celebrates its 84th Anniversary with a movie theme entitled “Lights, Camera, Action!”

In addition to the title, sash and crown Miss Davison will receive a $1,000 scholarship. First and Second Runners-up will be named Miss Davison Court and will each receive $500 scholarships.

Candidates are judged in three phases of competition, Interview, Career wear and Formal wear. The field will be narrowed to five finalists who answer the same final on-stage question. Candidates are judged on personality, communication, poise, scholastic achievement and community involvement, pageant responsibility and overall appearance.

Hosted again this year by local author, media personality and Davison grad Michael J. Thorp, the Pageant will be held Thursday June 16 at 7 p.m. in the Davison High School Auditorium.

A special performance by Academy de la Danse will kick off the show, which will also include dance performances by the candidates as well as Miss Davison 2019 Sophia Biazza and 2019 Court members Grace White and Emily Moriartey.

The Pageant will also feature the Miss Davison Princess Program, a non-competitive program for young ladies 4-12 years old. Each Princess will be individually crowned on stage, as well as having participated in the Festival Parade with the Candidates and 2019 Court.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on pageant night, and admission is $5 for adults. Tickets available at the door.
