FLINT TWP. — The St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Flint officially kicks off Saturday with a fund-raiser party and the crowning of Miss Hibernia from 4-10 p.m. at Dom Polski Hall, 3415 Linden Road.
Festivities will get underway with the Miss Hibernia Pageant from 4-6 p.m. when several young women, ages 16-22 and of Irish descent, will compete for the crown and cash scholarships of $350 to the second runner-up, $500 to the first runner-up and $1000 to the winner. The young women will be judged on their knowledge of their Irish heritage, poise, personality, appearance and an interview.
A family-friendly party and fund-raiser, open to the public, begins at 6 p.m. with door prizes, beer, wine, soda and snacks, and music by Rare Combination.
