Missing California woman found dead in Flint Township

FLINT TWP. — Police have located the body of a woman who went missing in Flint Township two weeks ago.

On Feb. 2, the Flint Township Police Department and a Michigan State Police K-9 unit located Angella Meeks, a 47-year-old resident of California. Meeks’ body was found in a small, wooded area a short distance from her last known location.

Meeks was last seen in the early morning hours of Jan. 24 at a residence in the 1100 block of Trotwood Lane in Flint Township, where she was staying with a friend. Trotwood Lane is located south of W. Bristol Road between Fenton Road and Van Slyke Road north of W. Maple Avenue.

According to police, Meeks left the residence without weather appropriate clothing or her personal effects. She was listed as missing and endangered last Tuesday morning.

Investigators said that Meeks had a mental health history and had no other friends or family in mid-Michigan or access to a vehicle. They also said that Meeks’ death does not appear to be suspicious, but an autopsy will be conducted to determine how she died.

Local businesses and residents in this area are asked to contact investigators if they have surveillance footage capturing any subjects walking or vehicles driving on Jan. 24 after 3 a.m.
