FLUSHING — Flushing High School graduate Molly Mitchell has been named the Flushing Rotary Club’s Student of the Month for June.
Mitchell, who graduated with honors, will be attending Grand Valley State University to study biomedical sciences.

Clubs: Rotary Interact-President, Student Council-President, Varsity Club-Trustee.
Work Experience: Molly works at Aeropostale in Birch Run as a cashier and sales associate.
Hobbies: Molly enjoys watching Netflix— she has watched Gray’s Anatomy five times now alone. She also likes swimming in the family pool, riding her bike, walking the family dog, and fishing, boating and spending time at her family’s place on Lake Brevort near the St. Ignes area.
COVID-19 response: Molly enjoyed the extra time at home with her family and brothers Josh (2019 FHS graduate) and Ben (current freshman at FHS).
Favorite Memory at FHS: Molly has two great memories to share. In her junior year at the Metro League Tennis Championships (hosted by Flushing High School), conditions were so rainy that the teams had to squeegee the courts just to play. This created an opportunity for Molly to interact with her opponents from other schools and make new friends. Molly was also on the Queen’s Court for Homecoming 2019.
Favorite Teacher: Molly’s favorite teacher was Mrs. Stead from fourth grade at Central Elementary School. Mrs. Stead taught her to how to be a more outgoing person and to just be herself.
Donation: Molly has designated for her $100 Rotary Club donation to go to the William H. Tunnicliff Memorial Scholarship Fund that was established for FHS graduates with autism. — B.G.
