MORRIS “JOE” ABBOTT, 95, of Burton, died Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial gathering will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 1–6 p.m. at D.A.V., 4270 East Bristol Road, Burton. Please R.S.V.P. to Sharon at 810-217-4855.

Joe was born in Tawas City, Michigan on November 13, 1924. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and fought in the Japanese Theatre as a decorated Navy man. Joe was a projectionist at Local #472 and worked as a stagehand for many years even after retirement. He was a member of Stagehand Local #201 in Flint and a member of Friends of the Burton Library. Joe had a passion for woodworking and loved pictures. Above all else, he had a love for his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving children, Sharon (Richard) and Les (Deborah); brother, Ray (Bea) Abbott of Tawas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; brother, Don Abbott; sister, Jean Mann and brother, Rolland Becker.
