Motorcyclist injured in Sunday night crash

DAVISON TWP. — Police were called to the 9100 block of Davison Road Sunday night after a motorcycle and an SUV collided, just west of the Davison city limit.

Davison Township Deputy Police Chief Gerald Harris said the crash occurred at 9:23 p.m., Aug. 23. Officers initially thought it was a life-threating injury to the operator of the motorcycle, but after the D.A.R.T. (Davison Area Reconstruction Team) team was called out, it was determined the driver’s injuries were not life threatening.

Harris said the preliminary investigation shows the motorcycle struck the back of the SUV heading westbound on Davison Road, in front of Allen Funeral Home.

The operator of the motorcycle was ejected and later taken to the hospital for his injuries.

Harris said the speed of the motorcycle maybe a contributing factor in the crash. There were no injuries to the driver or occupants of the SUV.

The Davison Township Police were assisted by the Richfield Township Police Department, Davison City Police Department, Davison- Richfield Area Fire Department and the Genesee County Sheriff Paramedics.

Further information about the driver of the motorcycle was not available.
