FLINT — Mott Children’s Health Center and Genesee Health System (GHS) are pleased to announce that they are furthering their collaboration and are co-locating all of Genesee Health System’s Child & Family Services program within the Mott Children’s Health Center building. The GHS Child & Family program move will be fully completed the week of Nov. 5.
In October of 2017, GHS located several employees from the Child and Family Program into the Mott Children’s Health Center building to enhance the delivery of behavioral healthcare to children in the Genesee County area. The success of that move instigated a further collaboration for all of GHS’s Child and Family employees and the staff at Mott.
The Mott Children’s Health Center provides medical, dental and behavioral health services to eligible children in Genesee County, while Genesee Health System is the public mental health provider for the county. This collaboration continues a powerful combination of skills to meet the healthcare needs of area children and will continue the ease of referrals between the two organizations. The collaboration has resulted in better service care and treatment for children and families.
“Our collaboration with GHS has strengthened our ability to offer a wide array of wrap-around health services for children and families all in one family-friendly location,” said Todd Wiseley, President and CEO of Mott Children’s Health Center. “Having all of GHS’s Child and Family Services here will continue to assist families in their quest for their healthcare to be delivered seamlessly.”
“GHS is pleased to expand our partnership with Mott Children’s Health Center to continue to meet the complete healthcare needs of area children. We know that when mental health is available at the same location as physical health care, families are better able to coordinate the complete care that their families need and reduce the stigma of seeking mental health care,” said Danis Russell, CEO of GHS.
