FLINT — The Mott Community College Education Association (MCCEA) faculty union is joining other community leaders and organizations in the “Say Yes to MCC” campaign.
The campaign supports the MCC Bond Proposal which will appear on the March 10 ballot. In addition to announcing its support of the campaign, the MCCEA has made a significant financial contribution to the campaign committee working to see passage of the bond proposal.
If approved, the bond proposal will generate funds to use for capital improvement, construction and renovation projects on the MCC campuses. Genesee County voters have supported the bond measure in the past, including in 2004 and 2013, and a “Yes” vote on March 10 will allow the College to continue the bonding authority that voters approved in 2013. The proposed millage rate for the bond would be .79 mils, which is less than the .82 mils approved in 2013.
