FLINT TWP. — The Bishop International Airport Authority recently voted unanimously to appoint Nino Sapone, A.A.E., currently it’s Interim Airport Director as the permanent Airport Director effective immediately.

Win Cooper, Chairperson of the Board, “We are excited to have Nino at the helm! Bishop Airport has many positive things happening. Nino is at the top of the list. We welcome him as our new Director.”

“I am honored and humbled to be given this amazing opportunity to lead a talented team at FNT and I look forward to moving forward together,” said Sapone. “An airport is so often the first and last impression that travelers have of the community and region, and so one must be committed to delivering outstanding operational performance while exceeding customer service expectations. I look forward to building on the growth and success at Bishop International Airport and working with the community to make the airport the best it can be.”

Sapone originally came to Flint Bishop, after a nationwide search for his prior position, from Pittsburgh International Airport, where he served as the Vice President, Airport Operations. He has over 25 years of industry experience with strong technical and business qualifications; an impressive track record of hands-on and progressive experience in strategic planning; business development, and project management.

Sapone is an accredited airport executive (A.A.E.) through the American Association of Airport Executives and served as the Chapter President for the Northeast Chapter of the organization. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from California University of Pennsylvania. Nino and his wife, Rochelle, enjoy traveling and camping with their children Isabella and Santino.
