New alliance seeks to help businesses, couples



GENESEE COUNTY— Planning an exceptional wedding in Genesee County is getting a whole lot easier, thanks to a new alliance of businesses formed recently in the area.

The Genesee County Bridal Alliance seeks to make finding and contacting professional wedding vendors as easy as possible for couples planning weddings. With that goal in mind the Board of Directors of the GCBA began recruiting businesses in March of 2011 and now has a membership nearing 30 vendors and will be producing its first annual Wedding Marketplace at the Captain’s Club at Woodfield on Jan. 22 from 12-4pm.

The Wedding Marketplace is garnering much attention from vendors and sponsors alike due to the nature of cooperation between local wedding vendors and quality of vendors involved. The Genesee County Bridal Alliance is excited to announce that the primary partner for the Wedding Marketplace is The Knot. Captain’s Club at Woodfield is located at 10200 Woodfield Dr., Grand Blanc.

The 2012 Wedding Marketplace will have a variety of vendors for engaged couples to meet and to gather information from. Including Tasty Layers Custom Cakes, Special Occasions Linens, Captain’s Club at Woodfield, Centennial Image Photography, Vogt’s Flowers, Liquid Entertainment, Bella Birches, Bon Appetit Catering, Black Tie Productions, Unforgettable Announcements, Medawar Jewelers, Cherished Celebrations, Sloan*Longway, Airhead Balloons, Italia Gardens/Holy Redeemer, Rusch Entertainment, Fairfield Inn & Suites, DeLorme Photography, Imaginique Studios, Jan’s Cleaners, The Wedding Dr, Colonial Valley Suites, Creative Catering, Walraven Weddings, Party Time Rentals and many more. A fashion show featuring dresses from Davison Bridal, Expressions In Silk, hair and make up from the brand new Pure Bliss Salon and men’s wear from Men’s Warehouse will highlight the latest looks for 2012.

In addition, prizes will be given away every 15 minutes and brides will have the opportunity to compete for a Grand Prize during the Wedding Madness competition hosted by CK 105.

The Genesee County Bridal Alliance is a locally based non profit organization of established and dedicated individuals who provide services for the wedding industry in Genesee County, Michigan.

The GCBA was founded on the basis that members will support and educate each other in a friendly and open atmosphere and work together as professionals to benefit brides and grooms in GeneseeCounty.

The objective of the organization is twofold: 1. To provide membership with networking and events throughout the year to help grow the membership businesses, increase the industry awareness and educate members on trends in the wedding marketplace. 2.
