Peaceful Parenting Series offered Dec. 7-8
FLINT — A Peaceful Parenting Series, presented by Recco S. Richardson Consulting, Inc., runs 6-8 p.m. Dec. 7 and will be repeated 9-11 a.m. Dec. 8 at the company’s location, 6309 N. Saginaw St.
The series, titled “Parenting Your Child’s Anger and Aggression,” touches on several discussion topics, including How to Teach Youth to Handle Disappointment; Why Our Youth are Angry; Helping Them Get Their Feelings Out; How to Identify Their Anger Triggers; How to Respond to Their Perceptions/Realities; and Keys to Teaching Youth to Respond Properly.
The workshop will be facilitated by Recco S. Richardson, PhD, diplomate, American Psychotherapy Association. Angel Roberston, BA, will be co-facilitating the workshop.

Hopeful Hearts at C/A Senior Center

Art Guild seeking donations
SWARTZ CREEK — The recently-formed Swartz Creek Area Art Guild is seeking donations of money, goods and/or services for its upcoming art gallery at 8048 Miller Rd.
The gallery will be used for teaching art, as well as providing a space for local artists to show and sell their art to the public.
The Guild has a list of items that are needed, and all donations are tax deductible.

51st Annual Motorcycle Races at Perani
FLINT — On Dec. 4, the 51st Annual Indoor Motorcycle Ice Races, hosted by the Flint Motorcycle Club, roars into Perani Arena and Event Center.
Since the races inception, all proceeds from the event have benefited Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint. This has been a lasting partnership combining the love of motorcycles and ice racing with the mentoring needs of children in the community.
More than 2,000 spectators are expected to attend and be thrilled by amateur and professional riders competing for prize money, and the races will showcase adult competitors and a youth division featuring children as young as four-years-old.
Doors open at 6 p.m., followed by the races at 7 p.m. Tickets are $16 for adults, $8 for children.
Tickets are available at Perani Arena and Event Center and Ticket Master Outlets. A kickoff party is Dec. 2 at Scooters Bar & Grill, featuring a live auction and pre-race fun.

Art Guild announces art auction
SWARTZ CREEK — The Swartz Creek Area Art Guild is sponsoring an art auction 1-5 p.m. Dec. 12.
The fundraising event will be at the Senior Citizens Center of Swartz Creek, 8095 Civic Drive. Unique art pieces from artists from around Michigan will be available for purchase.
Proceeds from this auction will assist the Guild to develop its teaching studios. The mission of the Guild is to promote interest in the visual arts in the greater Swartz Creek area. — N.B.
