ITT offers new degree
SWARTZ CREEK — ITT Technical Institute, 6359 Miller Rd., now offers a new associate of applied science degree program in Mobile Communications Technology in its School of Information Technology.

Drama Boosters group organizing
SWARTZ CREEK – Parents have started a Drama Booster Club for the High School Drama program. The club is looking for anyone who would like to support the arts by volunteering to use their life experiences and knowledge or just want to help with the high school plays from start to finish.
The group will be working with the drama, choir and band directors to help where needed and to assist the drama class and drama club as they work to get the performances ready. SC Band Boosters Book Fair
FLINT TWP. — On Dec. 10, Swartz Creek Band Boosters hosts a book fair at Barnes and Noble at the Genesee Valley Mall.
The community is invited to come on in, do some Christmas shopping and have the boosters even wrap their gifts. The band will receive a percentage of all sales for the day. This is at no extra cost to attendees. Bring in the little ones for the Polar Express Story Time at 7 p.m. and listen to the sound of members from the middle school and high school bands performing throughout the afternoon and evening.
For those who cannot attend the book fair, Barnes and Noble will honor the boosters’ vouchers on Dec. 11 as well. To make things even simpler, individuals can place orders Dec. 10-15 by entering the code on the voucher at check-out. Family and friends are able to help support the boosters, even if they live out of state, by making a purchase using the voucher number, which is 10340339. Art Guild announces art auction
SWARTZ CREEK — The Swartz Creek Area Art Guild is sponsoring an art auction 1-5 p.m. Dec. 12. The fundraising event will be at the Senior Citizens Center of Swartz Creek, 8095 Civic Drive. Unique art pieces from artists from around Michigan will be available for purchase. Proceeds from this auction will assist the Guild to develop its teaching studios. Holiday concert, art gala
SWARTZ CREEK — The Swartz Creek Fine Arts Department at Swartz Creek High School announces its first Holiday Concert and Art Gala Dec. 14 at the high school.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with the Art Gala in the cafeteria, followed by the Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the gym. The gala features artwork ranging from ceramics and sculpture to painting, drawing and cartoon graphics. The Holiday Concert features the SCHS Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band.
