FLINT TWP. — In the Sept. 23 issue, the headline on the story about Flint Township’s adoption of a new road debt service fund for the Dyewood Road Special Assessment was incorrect. The headline should have read “Township votes 4-2 to adopt new road debt service fund for Dyewood.” — N.B.

Flu shots available at C/A Senior Center

Gifted Learners Program

FLINT — Recco S. Richardson Consulting, Inc., 6309 N. Saginaw St., offers its Gifted Learner’s Program to students in grades four through eleven.

The community-based program is for academically advanced and gifted youth. The purpose of the program is to provide academically-gifted students with college-level instruction, assistance with acceptance into top-tier colleges, career and college planning, volunteer experience, securing scholarships and grants, ACT/SAT testing support, leadership and more.

FLINT TWP. — Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools will hold its annual Homecoming parade Oct. 8. The parade, which begins at 4:30 p.m. begins at South Baptist Church on Van Slyke Road and ends at Carman-Ainsworth Middle School on Maple Road.

Swim, gym night

FLINT TWP. — Kids ages 7-11 are invited to Carman-Ainsworth High School 6:30-9 p.m. Oct. 29 for a swim and gym night. The event features a variety of activities including swimming, basketball, kickball, board games, crafts, music, socializing and pizza. The event is just for kids; all students must be checked in and out by a parent and/or guardian.

Cost is $8 (no refunds). Attendees must register by Oct. 27. No registrations will be taken at the door, and all kids must be picked up by 9 p.m.

Bingo pizza night

BURTON — Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools announces its Bingo Pizza Night 6- 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at South Bendle Elementary, 4341 Larkin Ave.

Art Guild seeking donations

SWARTZ CREEK — The recently-formed Swartz Creek Area Art Guild is seeking donations of money, goods and/or services for its upcoming art gallery at 8048 Miller Rd.

The gallery will be used for teaching art, as well as providing a space for local artists to show and sell their art to the public. The gallery also will serve as a venue for individuals and families to enjoy a cultural atmosphere.

The Guild has a list of items that are needed, and all donations are tax deductible. The Swartz Creek Area Art Guild is a non-profit organization.

Holy Rosary to hold Scrapbooking Day

GENESEE TWP. — Holy Rosary, 5191 Richfield Rd., will hold Scrapbooking Day Oct. 9 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Doors will be open at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $35 if registered by Oct. 1, $40 afterwards. Food basket holds spaghetti supper

SWARTZ CREEK — The Swartz Creek Community Food Basket is holding a spaghetti supper to benefit their food pantry 4:30-6:30 Oct. 15 at the United Methodist Church, 7400 Miller Rd. The food pantry is supported by St Mary’s Catholic, SC United Methodist, Messiah Lutheran, Kiwanis and other churches and civic groups in the area and serves the Swartz Creek community.
