October happenings at the Flint Children’s Museum



FLINT — Here are some of the events taking place at the Flint Children’s Museum, 1602 University Ave., during the month of October:

• Discovery Zone is an all new “Out of This World”! An outer space experience completely under black lights, with glowing planets, an oversized moon, and glow in the dark activities for children to learn from.

• Oct. 28 from 12-5 p.m. is free admission to the Museum thanks to Kohl’s and Hurley.

• Different hands-on activities each day throughout the month! See the list below for details.

October is “Build It” month. Interactive activities for the month include:

• Oct. 19 , 1–3 p.m. — Build a Jet Pack

• Oct. 20 , 1–3 p.m. — Rockets

• Oct. 21 , 1–3 p.m. —Nocturnal Animal Crafts

• Oct. 23 , 1-3 p.m. — Build an Edible Bridge

• Oct. 24 , 1–3 p.m. —Rockets

• Oct. 25 , 1–3 p.m. — UFOs

• Oct. 26 , 1–3 p.m. — The 3 Pigs Build it Work Shop

• Oct. 27 , 1–3 p.m. — Pumpkin Fun

• Oct. 28 , 1–3 p.m. —Rockets

• Oct. 30 , 1–3 p.m. — The 3 Pigs Build it Work Shop

• Oct. 31 , 10 a.m., 12p.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. — Alien Party!

Hours: Tuesday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission: $6/person for ages 1 and up.
