Old Newsboys receive grant from the Stella & Frederick Loeb Foundation

GENESEE COUNTY — Old Newsboys of Flint, Inc. has announced it has received a $4,000 grant from the Stella & Frederick Loeb Charitable Trust administered by Huntington Bank. These funds will support the 2018 Christmas Box.

The Old Newsboys of Flint (ONB)’s Christmas Box Program provides Genesee County’s low- income children with a sweat suit, two pairs of socks and underwear, a winter hat, a warm pair of gloves, dental hygiene products, and an age appropriate gift.

The funds from this grant will provide Christmas boxes to 200 children in need in Genesee County. Since 1924, the Old Newsboys have put presents under the tree for over 812,000 children across Genesee County. Last year alone, 6,179 children received gifts from the Old Newsboys. “With this grant and the continued support of the community, we’re making a difference,” says Executive Director, Chris Hamilton, “one child at a time.” — G.G.
