On course to make difference, one child at a time

FLINT — The Old Newsboys will host their 11th Annual Million Dollar Golf Classic Aug. 9 at the Elks Golf Club. At 8 a.m. the activities kick off with use of the driving range, registration will open at 9 a.m. and breakfast snacks will be available. Shotgun start is at 11 a.m. On the par-3s there will be an opportunity to win a million dollars, a new car and a trip to Las Vegas.

There will be lunch at the turn, and a full buffet dinner after 18 holes. The evening will wind down with a charity auction featuring one-of-a-kind items, fabulous packages, and autographed memorabilia. The cost is only $100 per golfer.

Proceeds from this event will provide holiday boxes to needy children in our area and fund the Warm Hearts Healthy Starts (Coat & Shoe) Program. In its 85 year history, the Old Newsboys have put presents under the tree for more than 760,000 children across Genesee County. Last year alone, 5,892 children received gifts from the Old Newsboys. — G.G.
