One dead, three arrested at mobile home park in Flint Township

FLINT TWP. — Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead at a mobile home park in Flint Township on Sept. 2.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., officers were called to the 3100 block of Avalon Drive in the Villa Home Mobile Park off Torrey Road for a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a 19-year-old man who had sustained gunshot wounds. The man was immediately transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Officers began searching the area for a getaway vehicle, as well as several subjects who fled the scene after the shooting. Police arrested three people a short time later and interviewed each of the individuals last Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Once the case has been completed, it will be presented to the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office for a review of charges. Investigators are still working to determine a motive behind the shooting.

Michigan State Police, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Metro Police Authority of Genesee County officers and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab- Bridgeport assisted Flint Township police at the scene.
