One man killed, three injured in early morning shooting




FLINT TWP. — A quadruple shooting at a Flint Township restaurant has left one man dead and three injured.

At around 4:04 a.m. on Sunday, officers with the Flint Township Police Department were dispatched to the Mega Classic Diner on Corunna Road for a shooting. Upon arrival, police discovered that four people had been shot while inside the restaurant.

According to police, a 26-year-old male from Flint was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. The other three individuals—a 31-year-old male, a 25-year-old male and 26-year-old female—were also taken to the hospital and are listed in stable condition.

A 25-year-old male suspect from Flint fled the scene after the shooting but was taken into custody by officers inside a neighboring business. He was later lodged at the Genesee County Jail.

Investigators said that there was an altercation prior to the shooting but have not yet determined the reason behind the altercation. The case will be presented to the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office for a review of charges when the investigation is complete.

The Flint Township Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police Crime Lab, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Metro Police Authority of Genesee County and the Clayton Township Police Department.
