Outpouring of support for senior citizens ‘Pig Roast’

FLINT TWP — The second annual “Pig Roast” fundraiser hosted by the Flint Township Center Senior Center last Saturday was a roaring success thanks to support from several businesses, organizers said.

The sold-out event included food and games including Bingo and Euchre. Tickets were limited to 100 people.

Many area businesses donated gift cards as prizes. They included Tim Hortons, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, BD Mongolian Grill, Willowbrook Manor, Hear USA, Cora, Al Serra, Gentiva, Caretel of Linden, Subway, Johns Coney Island, Leo’s, Foutch Auto Wash, Freakin Unbelievable Burgers, Red Robin, Pizza Hut. Hurley Medical Center, Stat EMS, Great Clips, O’Reilly’s Auto, Rallys, Duke Car Stereo, AAA Radiator and Auto Repair, Auto Zone, Signature Real Estate, ELGA Credit Union, Cyclone Touchless Auto Wash, Comfort Keepers, Homewood Village, Woodhaven, Kith Haven, McDonalds and Biggby Coffee,

Individual donations were made by Maureen Hallead, Bob and Linda Moore and Sandy Chaterson,

All proceeds will support center needs including its free food pantry which is open to needy seniors and families.
