FLINT TWP. — Look for the new Panera Bread Bakery & Cafe, 4447 Miller Road, to open up any day now.
Panera officials did not respond to a request for an opening date and other information but Flint Township building director Tracey Tucker confirmed that the business passed final inspections last week and is free to open whenever.
Signs posted along the side of the road indicate that they are now hiring. Online job postings are for bakers, managers and associates. Company perks include competitive pay, a 401K pan, associate stock purchase plan, paid vacations and product discounts, according to the job listing. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and food service or retail experience is preferred.
The 4,316 square-foot building is complete but landscaping work is not completed.
It will be the third Panera location in Genesee County, joining existing ones in Grand Blanc and Fenton.
Construction started on the 1.45- acre site in March after razing a building formerly occupied by Eddie’s Amusement.
