Parade of emergency vehicles passes through Genesee County

GENESEE COUNTY — Emergency vehicles from several communities came together to pay tribute to the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary in Conn. this morning (Jan. 5).

A convoy of 27 ambulances driven by emergency personnel rolled through the Genesee County at approximately 10:30 a.m., traveling northbound on Interstate 75. The “parade” made its way onto Saginaw Street in downtown Flint around 10:45 a.m. before turning to the interstate and resuming its trip north.

The “parade” left from around the Ohio border this morning and will continue on to Sault St. Marie throughout the day

Organized, in part, by Arrowhead Police and Emergency Vehicle Equipment in Mundy Township, the “memorial” is in honor of the children and school personnel killed Dec. 14 in the tragic Newtown, Conn. shootings.
