Parade route okayed

FLINT TWP. — As it does each year, the township board has given its consent to Carman-Ainsworth High School to apply for road closure to hold the annual Homecoming Parade, set for Friday, September 29. As in past years, the parade route will begin at South Baptist Church on Van Slyke Road and proceed south to Maple Road, then east to C-A Middle School. Step off begins at 4 p.m. and the parade is expected to end at approximately 5 p.m. Township board approval is needed for the parade application to be forwarded to the Genesee County Road Commission to obtain permission for necessary road closures. Paperwork submitted with the request included a Certificate of Liability Insurance and Hold Harmless Agreement. — Rhonda Sanders
