FLINT TWP. — Traffic on I-75 was delayed during morning rush hour, Jan. 8, following a crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle.
The accident happened at about 4:30 a.m. on southbound I-75 at Bristol Road. One of the vehicles involved was a semi-truck pulling a trailer, said Lt. Brad Wangler, in a statement released last week.
Initial investigation revealed that a passenger vehicle rear-ended the trailer as it was merging onto I-75.
The 26-year-old driver of the car was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured. One lane of I-75 was closed while the crash was investigated. All of the lanes of the expressway were reopened at approximately 9:15 a.m., said Wangler.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The Flint Township Fire Department and the Grand Blanc Township Motor Carrier Division assisted at the scene.
