Patricia A. (Sponenburg) Hards



PATRICIA A. (SPONENBURG) HARDS, of Davison, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021. Born September 20th, 1940, she was 80 years old. Pat loved the Lord her entire life and has joyfully gone to His eternal kingdom.

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Pat was happily married for 58 years to A. Thomas “Tom” Hards. Pat especially cherished her family, and is survived by her husband, Tom, sons, Scott, who resides in Japan and Preston (Angela), who lives in Davison, five grandchildren, Preston “PJ” and Mitchell of Davison, Kelly, Ellyn and Matthew, who all live in Japan.

Pat was a graduate of Dearborn High School and Michigan State University. Pat retired from Kearsley School District, where she was a popular educator for over 30 years teaching high school and middle school grades. She spent most of her summer months in the Traverse City area, which she also loved.

An especially friendly and social person, Pat volunteered with many groups and organizations to help others and bring joy to their lives. A leader in the 1970’s Davison area Welcome Wagon, Pat also trained to become an Emergency Medical Technician and volunteered for many years with the Davison Ambulance Authority. Ever the social chairwoman, she loved to host parties and gatherings for friends and family and was an extremely supportive Davison Hockey mom/grandma for her son and grandson. Practically a founding member of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Davison and was most recently a devout member of Davison Free Methodist Church, as well as Church of the Living God in Traverse City. In addition to her Faith and Family, Pat had a passion for being a world traveler and had the opportunity to visit all 50 states and nearly 30 different countries. She was a dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Christian, Spartan and Conservative. Her family asks anyone who knew Pat to please pray for her, and help us celebrate her amazing life and her place in heaven with the Lord.

A Memorial Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Davison Free Methodist Church, 502 Church Street, Davison, MI 48423.
