Peter Ewald Klose

 

 

PETER EWALD KLOSE, 89, of Grand Blanc, died Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at his home. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Pamela; his brother, Hans (Margarete) Klose; and many nieces and nephews.

Peter was born July 16, 1931, in Frankenstein, Germany, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Bernhard and Hildegard (Schneider) Klose. After coming to the United States, Peter proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1952 until 1956. Peter and Pamela Wood were married on September 4, 1970 in Holland Michigan, sharing fifty wonderful years together. Peter was a teacher of German language at Grand Blanc High School from 1964 until his retirement in 1990. During his time with Grand Blanc High School, Peter organized several trips to Germany for his students. After retirement, he went on to teach German courses at Kettering University, the University of Michigan-Flint, and Mott Community College. In his free time, Peter enjoyed reading, listening to music, traveling throughout Europe and Germany, and making corkboards. He will be greatly missed.

 

 

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Bernhard and Hildegard; his sister, Thea Lapan; and his brother, Wolfgang Klose.

Peter will be buried at Great Lakes National Cemtery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48442. With the health and safety of their loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic in mind, Peter’s family has decided to have a private committal services at the cemetery. No public funeral services have been scheduled. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions in Peter’s name to Kindred Hospice
