FLINT — No one has a piggy bank for breast cancer. Going through treatment can be tiring and costly, but our community has stepped up to help patients so they can focus on beating this awful disease.
Presenting Sponsor Hurley Medical Center and Founding Sponsor Financial Plus Credit Union are proud to announce the 2021 Pink Night Palooza raised an astounding $200,508.52 for the Hurley Breast Cancer Patient Navigation Program. This total is a collection from sponsorships, mini-fundraisers and individual donations.
“Thanks to the generosity of this community, we can help patients pay rent and utilities, get to and from treatment and even provide extra help for food or wigs,” said Marsha Schmit, Hurley Breast Cancer Patient Navigator. “I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my community and everyone involved. From every part of my heart on behalf of the patients we serve, we will use this money wisely, carefully and to the benefit of patients who are going through breast cancer here locally.”
Pink Night Palooza was successful thanks to Title Sponsors Insta-Lube and RMI, Hosts Melissa Hager and Chris Swanson and Mid-Michigan Now who broadcast the event live on CW46 for the first time this year.
“I’m happy to thank our community for their continued support over the past 13 years. This year we were able to raise awareness and share our mission with thousands of viewers via a live broadcast thanks to our sponsor Mid-Michigan Now.,” said Brad Bergmooser, Financial Plus Credit Union President and CEO. “Your generosity is truly bringing light to so many lives every day.”
