Armed robber arrested

FLINT TWP. — An 18-year-old male suspect is in custody following an armed robbery at a Linden Road store.

On May 11, at about 11:30 a.m. Flint Township officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at Disc Replay, 3192 S. Linden Road, according to a police report. A store employee reported that he was robbed at gunpoint of several laptop computers. After the robbery, the suspect was witnessed fleeing on foot and was last seen entering the Genesee Valley Center mall through the Sears entrance.

Assisted by officers from the Swartz Creek Police Department, the suspect, a Mt. Morris Township resident, was located in a bathroom near the mall’s food court. He was taken into custody without incident. At the time of the arrest, officers recovered the stolen laptop computers, as well as a .45 caliber pistol that had previously been reported stolen. The suspect was lodged at the Genesee County Jail and the case will be presented to the Genesee County Prosecutor’s office.
