Father of infant arrested for child abuse
FLINT TWP. — On Friday, Feb. 17, Flint Township Police officers were dispatched to a local hospital for a report of suspected child abuse with serious injury. The victim, a 7-week-old baby girl who is a resident of Flint Township, was listed in critical condition.
An investigation and subsequent interviews revealed that the infant’s father, Matthew Hoyle, a 24-year-old, township resident, assaulted the victim by shaking and choking her. The incident occurred in the Hunter’s Ridge Apartment complex. The suspect was arrested and the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office authorized a charge of first degree Child Abuse. — R.S.
