House Fire

FLUSHING — Police and fire crews responded to a house fire on the 600 block of Terrace St. on Feb. 7. Officers entered the home and rescued a 68-year-old female from the house, and firefighters were able to contain the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Snowmobile theft

FLUSHING — On Feb. 4, officers responded to a larceny complaint on the 400 block of Crestview Lane. Police learned that a snowmobile had been stolen from the residence and discovered tracks in the snow left by a trailer that had been used to steal the vehicle. During the investigation, police saw that the trailer gate had been pressed against the snow where it was lowered, leaving behind a perfect impression of the trailer’s license plate. Police tracked the license number to a 20-year-old male suspect, who was arrested and then released pending further investigation. The snowmobile was delivered back to the owner.

Vehicle larceny

FLUSHING — On Jan. 29, police were dispatched to the 300 block of Maple St. for a report of larceny. The homeowner told police that a nine-millimeter handgun, construction tools and money had been stolen from his truck in the driveway. Neighbors also reported that some items were missing from their vehicles.

Later that day, police arrested a 27-year-old male and a 25-year-old female at a traffic stop in Flushing. The male suspect was lodged in the Genesee County Jail and later charged with five counts of larceny, including receiving and concealing stolen property, theft of a firearm, and two counts of larceny from a motor vehicle. His female passenger was released. Police recovered some of the stolen property and conducted a search related to the case at a house on the 200 block of Cherry St. — B.G.
