Thrown hamburger ends up with arrest
DAVISON TWP. — A 31-year-old Davison woman was arrested May 20 in the Village of Wicklow after police were called to the reported disturbance at 6:24 p.m. According to police, the woman told police she and the victim, a 41-year-old Davison man, were having a “funny conversation” when she “jokingly” threw a hamburger at the man.
He threw it back and the pair reportedly got into a tussle which resulted in the woman attempting to leave in her car, but she backed up and struck the victim, who was in his wheelchair behind the woman’s car, knocking the chair over.
The woman was arrested for aggravated assault and was taken to the Genesee County Jail where she was lodged. The case is currently in the hands of the Genesee County Prosecutor’s office. The man was reportedly not injured.
Tools stolen from truck
DAVISON TWP. — On May 21 at 9:45 a.m. police responded to the 1000 block of N. Oak Road for the report of a larceny from an automobile. An officer arrived at the address and was greeted by a 58-year-old Vassar man who said his electric and hand tools were stolen from his unlocked truck in Timber Heights. He told police he forgot to lock the truck. There was no forced entry, no witnesses and no evidence.
Man arrested for OWI
DAVISON TWP. — On May 22 at 10:31 p.m. police were called to the Charter Oaks parking lot for the report of unknown trouble. When officers arrived, they observed a truck leaving the scene with loud exhaust, so police stopped the vehicle. The driver, a 23-year-old Davison man, admitted to drinking and said he was coming from the location of the reported disturbance where he had been in a disagreement with his girlfriend. Police conducted sobriety tests which the suspect failed, so they administered a portable breathalyzer test which gave a .16 BAC result. The suspect was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and was lodged in the Genesee County Jail. The argument with the girlfriend was only verbal and resulted in no further charges.
Crash ends in drunk driving arrest
DAVISON TWP. — A 48-year-old Davison man was arrested May 23 for alleged drunk driving after driving his car into a ditch where he passed out behind the wheel. Police were called to the 7000 block of Schoolcraft Drive at 9:40 p.m. for the report of a dark-colored sedan driving into a ditch with the driver slumped at wheel. Police arrived and made contact with driver. A sheriff’s deputy already on the scene said he observed the suspect attempt to restart the vehicle unsuccessfully. Police detected the strong odor of alcohol coming from the suspect and noted he was unsteady on his feet. He failed sobriety tests and when police conducted a PBT test the result was a .27 BAC. The man was arrested for drunk driving and was lodged I the Genesee County Jail.
Tires and wheel stolen off car
DAVISON TWP. — On May 24 at 5:17 a.m. police were called to Charter Oaks Apartments for the report of all four tires and wheel stolen off a car overnight. The victim, a 58-year-old Davison man said his tires and rims were taken and his car was left on wooden boards. Police have no leads or suspects.
Man arrested for drunk driving after striking pole
DAVISON TWP. — Police were called to the intersection of Atlas Road and Woodridge Street on May 25 – at 12:56 a.m. for the report of an SUV striking a utility pole. Police arrived and found a 43-year-old Davison woman asleep behind the wheel of the SUV which was against a utility pole. Police woke the suspect up and got the door opened to get her out of the vehicle. She admitted to police she had been drinking, failed sobriety tests and then took a PBT which registered a BAC of .210. The woman was taken into custody and was lodged in the Genesee County Jail on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Man runs intruder out of his home, suspect arrested
DAVISON TWP. — A 44-year-old Davison man was surprised when he was sitting in his living room on the evening of May 26 watching TV and a stranger came walking through his front door. Police were called to the report of a home invasion in the 2000 block of Baxter Road. The victim said he heard the screen door open in his living room, where he was sitting, and when he looked up to see who it was saw it was a stranger.
The man confronted the intruder and forced him out of his house and off the porch, at which time the suspect ran away. Police arrived and soon located a 32-year-old Davison man in the vicinity of the house who was arrested and lodged I the Genesee County Jail. — Compiled by Gary Gould
