Man arrested for OWI after crashing car
DAVISON TWP. — Police were called to the area of M-15 at Lippincott Boulevard on July 24 at about 11 p.m. for the report of a care that had left the roadway and crashed into some trees. Officer arrived to find the car about 50 feet off the road in some trees.
The driver, a 57-year-old Flint man, told police the road was “slippery” and that caused him to lose control. Police performed sobriety tests on the man, who failed, then conducted a portable breathalyzer test, which register .27 blood alcohol content reading.
The suspect was taken to the Genesee County Jail where police obtained a warrant for a blood draw to see if there were any other substances present. He was lodged and the case is open pending the outcome of the blood test.
Men try to leave store without paying for lightbulbs
DAVISON TWP. — Police were called to Menards, 7410 E. Court St., on July 24 at 10:15 p.m. to take a report about two men who entered the store, did some shopping and bought several items, but then tried to leave the store with a Kroger bag they brought inside with them.
When store personnel asked to see inside the bag, the men opened it and revealed three lightbulbs they had not paid for. The men then left the bag with the lightbulbs and left the store.
Police have no further leads.
