Police hosted annual National Night Out

FLINT TWP. — National Night Out is a community outreach even celebrated every year at the Flint Township Police Department, 5200 Norko Dr., Township police cohosted the event with the Metro Police Authority of Swartz Creek and Mundy Twp.

Other participating public safety partners included the Flint Township Fire Department, Mundy Township Fire Department, Swartz Creek Area Fire Department, Bishop Airport Department of Public Safety, Genesee County Park Rangers, Genesee County Sheriff Department, Michigan State Police, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Genesee County Central Dispatch and STAT Ambulance.

Military partners attending included the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marines and the Michigan National Guard.

The event has several new business partners this year, said Lt. Jim Baldwin.

The line dance team from Bendle/ Carman-Ainsworth Senior Center returned this year. Also, there were K9 demonstrations, a shooting simulator from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, a driving simulator from Michigan State Police, The Home Depot’s Child Build-a-Kit projects and face painting, among several other activities.
