Utility trailers stolen

CLAYTON TOWNSHIP – Police here are advising that several utility trailers have been reported stolen from residences in Clayton Township.

The thefts have occurred during the day, according to the police department’s Facebook page.

Township police could not be reached for additional details.

Gaines man injured

RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP – A 52-year-old Gaines man suffered injuries when a load of steel fell on him Friday.

The incident occurred just before 8:30 a.m. at Bristol Steel.

Township police Chief Tony Craig said the man was standing on a stack of steel that he was hooking to a crane when the stack collapsed, toppling him and pinning his legs.

Coworkers used a crane to move the steel off the man’s legs, Craig said. The victim was transported to Hurley Medical Center. – L.R.
