SWARTZ CREEKChangingstreets.com, a real estate company in Swartz Creek, recently expanded its office space by moving locations from its old downtown Swartz Creek spot to a new one at 6005 Miller Rd., a location west of Dye Road.

“Where we were, we were maxed out,” said David Nemer, a broker and business partner at Changingstreets.com. “We’re looking to expand and acquire more agents.”

Nemer said the new office location, which they moved into on June 1, gives the company more space, private offices for its eight agents and a better business atmosphere.

“The new office allows us to be more efficient due to the central location,” said Tim Lanphear, a realtor for Changingstreets.com. “Also the office has brought excitement to the team which has already translated in more business from certain agents.”

Changingstreets.com offers full-time realty service that helps homebuyers, sellers and banks.

“We service the needs of clients,” Nemer said. “The market is coming around, and we assist homeowners in buying homes.”

They were originally Nemer Realty and first opened for business to serve Swartz Creek homebuyers and sellers in 1972. They have been in Swartz Creek ever since.

“Swartz Creek is where we are from, where we started, and where we will continue to serve,” Nemer said.

In May 2011, the company became Changingstreets.com, a franchise for the company that has offices throughout Michigan as well as Hawaii and North Carolina.

“Changingstreets offers national franchise assistance with leads, forms, technology, without the national franchise fees,” Nemer said.

The local office specializes in serving buyers and sellers in Genesee County, but assists people throughout mid-Michigan, including Livingston, Shiawassee, Oakland and Wayne Counties.

“Bank properties take us all over the place,” Nemer said.

The company features a website that makes searching for homes for sale in the area convenient and easy. Nemer said there is high traffic on the site.

“It puts the ball in their court. It allows then to do searches for homes in their homes,” he said.

The website can be found at Shico.changingstreets.com.

Nemer said the real estate market in Swartz Creek is improving, and home prices are getting more stable all over.

“It’s really coming back strong. The Swartz Creek market is growing. It’s harder and harder to find buyers homes because the market is shifting into a positive atmosphere,” he said. “It will continue to improve as the economy gets better.”

Nemer also said the Swartz Creek real estate market presents opportunities for homebuyers because it is a nice bedroom community with access to highways that allows people to get to their jobs. He added that houses are still affordable in the area, too.

“Now is a good time to buy because there is still deals out there,” he said.
