BURTON — On Nov. 10, Flushing-based charity Rebecca’s Reason will be hosting a Christmas Shopping Experience at Harmony Baptist Church in Burton.
The vendor show will feature many types of Christmas gifts and décor, with local crafters selling personalized gifts, baked goods, homemade quilts, wreaths, ornaments and paintings. Direct sales representatives will also be on hand to sell makeup, jewelry, kitchenware and purses.
“We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy some holiday shopping,” said Sarah Curtis, founder and president of Rebecca’s Reason. “Get it all done in a day!”
All proceeds from the Christmas Shopping Experience will benefit Rebecca’s Reason, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide financial support to families dealing with the loss of a child.
“We got the idea for the vendor show after attending a few from other organizations,” Curtis said. “We are always looking for ways to raise money for our mission, and this was also a way to promote shopping local and helping some of our supporters who also have small businesses.”
So far this year, Rebecca’s Reason has helped 41 families to pay for medical or funeral expenses for their children. Back in September, the charity raised over $6,000 with a silent auction/ dinner event held at Central Baptist Church in Flint.
Curtis and the entire Rebecca’s Reason board wishes to thank the community for its continued support and hopes for a great turnout on Nov. 10. They are also reminding residents about their upcoming fundraising booth, which will be held on Dec. 1 in front of Chemical Bank in Flushing.
The Christmas Shopping Experience will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Harmony Baptist Church is located on 5106 E Bristol Rd. in Burton. For more info on Rebecca’s Reason and its mission, visit www.RebeccasReason.org or facebook.com/rebeccasreason.
