Rebecca’s Reason to host Fall/Winter Vendor Show

BURTON — Area shoppers can discover some holiday treasures while supporting a good cause at the upcoming Rebecca’s Reason Fall/Winter Vendor Show.

The vendor show, which will be held at Harmony Baptist Church in Burton on Nov. 2, will feature a diverse group of 30 artisans and vendors selling handmade jewelry, purses, clothing, candles, hand-dipped chocolates and much more. Lunch and hot chocolate will also be available for shoppers, along with giveaways and raffle opportunities.

Sarah Curtis, founder and president of Rebecca’s Reason, said that there is sure to be something for everyone’s holiday shopping list at the Fall/Winter Vendor Show.

“Shoppers can expect to find an incredible variety of items for sale at very reasonable prices,” she said. “You will find unique and one-of-a-kind treasures for sale and also have a chance to win items in our raffles.”

Rebecca’s Reason was founded in 2015 to honor the life of Rebecca Anne Curtis, a newborn who passed away 12 hours after she was born. The Flushing-based charity is dedicated toward raising money for families who have experienced the loss of a child and has provided burial assistance to 50 families across the country this year alone.

In addition to the Fall/Winter Vendor Show, Rebecca’s Reason hosted a Spring Vendor Show in March and a Bowling Blast in May at Colonial Lanes in Flushing. Rebecca’s Reason also puts together an annual fundraising dinner and auction every September to commemorate what would have been Rebecca’s fourth birthday.

Sarah Curtis said that the vendor shows have become a successful fundraising tool, providing a fun and festive time for shoppers while growing awareness for her organization’s cause.

“At our vendor events, we get to tell our story to every vendor, many of whom go on to help us raise funds for the families we support,” she said. “Every shopper hears Rebecca’s name and has an opportunity to learn more about our mission.”

The Rebecca’s Reason Fall/Winter Vendor Show will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov. 2. Harmony Baptist Church is located at 5106 E Bristol Rd. in Burton.

On Nov. 16, Rebecca’s Reason will be hosting a “porch sign party,” featuring a local artist who will teach a class on how to make painted porch signs.
