Register now for first-ever Rosie the Riveter 5K

FLINT — Lace up your running (or walking) shoes and get ready to run for Rosie the Riveter.

The first-ever Rosie the Riveter 5K is set for Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27. Because of the pandemic and social distancing guidelines, this first-time event will be a virtual 5K, allowing walkers and runners from all over the U.S. to complete the 5K anywhere and anytime between Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27.

The race is hosted by the Flint Women’s Forum and Back to the Bricks as a fundraising effort for the Rosie the Riveter statue. Once completed, the statue will be on display at Flint Bishop International Airport.

Participants have two registration options: A bib and medal is $30; a bib, medal and t-shirt is $40. Items will be mailed to participants.

Those doing the 5K can also enter a special dress up contest to see who can dress up and run like Rosie! Those dressing up must submit a photo on the event page, with permission to use for marketing. One winner will be selected and announced on Facebook Live Monday, June 29, along with the top finishers in each class.

Registration is open now until Friday, June 26 so everyone has the opportunity to get a medal and register for this great cause.
