The Flushing American Legion Post #283 observed Veterans Day on Nov. 11 with a ceremony at the Flushing Cemetery. Dignitaries honored the service and sacrifices of United States military veterans and placed wreaths at a memorial dedicated to the Ransom Post No. 89 GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) and the Women’s Relief Corps No. 119. There was also a 21-gun salute from the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, Governor Crapo Camp #145.
