FLINT — Republic Services of Flint has advised customers to expect temporary delays in yard waste collection in Genesee County.
Trash and recycling collections remain on schedule, the company said.
In a letter to the municipalities the company serves, Republic officials said there currently is a nationwide shortage of truck drivers “and that has posed a staffing challenge for us in multiple markets.”
Republic continues to bring in additional resources and hire more drivers.
The increase in yard waste set out to the curbs adds to the time it will take Republic to catch up on collections.
