Restaurant supporting Toys for Tots campaign

FLINT TWP. -– Starting on Thursday, December 1, Capitol Coney Island, 4021 Van Slyke Road, Flint, began participating as an official Toys-For-Tots location. Owners Nick and Anastasia Pirkovic, along with the Capitol Coney Island team, invite patrons to spread some holiday joy.

To help celebrate the holidays, Capital Coney Island will be offering 10% off the check to customers who bring in a toy to donate to the Toys-For-Tots foundation. This offer will run most of the month and will remain valid until Thursday, December 22.

“We get thousands of people who come in over the duration of a month…if each customer brought in just one gift, it would make the holidays for a lot of kids,” said Nick Pirkovic.

To help with a last-minute push for gifts, Capitol also will have a special offer on Tuesday, December 20. “If a customer brings in a gift on that day, they will get a free Coney” said Nick Pirkovic.

Opened originally in 1966, has been serving the Flint community for 49 years. Nick and Anastasia Pirkovic purchased Capital Coney Island with business partners back in 2005, and have been in the restaurant business for roughly two decades. In 2013, they made the first major remodel of the restaurant for the first time in nearly 50 years.
