Roger Wayne Boyce

ROGER WAYNE BOYCE, 61, of Davison, MI, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at McLaren-Flint. His battle with medical issues over the last few years highlighted the traits that everyone already knew, he was a fighter. Despite the pain and setbacks, he was always there for those who needed him and remained strong until the end.

Roger was born in Flint, MI on July 14, 1960, to Edwin and Sadako (Ohabuchi) Boyce. The second of three children; he was the bridge between and best friend to both of his siblings, Frank and Anna. Roger loved motocross racing and although he started later than most, he put his heart into the sport and the community. Loretta Lynn’s Motocross Nationals was the highlight of his accomplishments and the memories he cherished the most. Roger managed the weight room at Davison High School. It was his way to give back to his community and share his love of fitness with younger generations. Roger had three children, Quinn, Kiana, and Kourtney or as he affectionately called them “Daddy’s little boy,” “Kwianna,” and “Doo Doo.” Each of whom had special and unique relationships with their dad. Tina, his former spouse, was always a constant for Roger even after separating. She was, in his words, his “Angel” as she never left his side in the end.

Roger is survived by his three children, Quinn (Megan) Boyce, Kiana Boyce and Kourtney Boyce; former spouse, Tina Boyce; four grandchildren, Carson Diehl, Henry Diehl, Scarlett Boyce and Miles Boyce; two siblings, Anna (Ronnie) Evoy and Frank (Cheryl) Boyce; brother-in-law, Tommy (Tammy) Evoy; mother-in-law, Darlene Evoy; niece, Chloe Evoy; nephew, Hunter Evoy; many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Sadako Boyce; nephew, Brandon Evoy; grandparents, Frank and Eleanor Boyce; father-in-law, Ronald Evoy and many other loved ones.
