Rotary Club makes student scholarship awards

FLINT — The Rotary Club of Greater Flint Sunrise has awarded three $1,000 scholarships to area high school seniors. Kaylee Green of Bentley High School, Eriatta Bates of Mott Middle College High School, and Whitney Berry of E.A. Johnson Memorial High School in Mt. Morris were selected to receive scholarships from over 50 applicants.

Each will be attending colleges in Flint, and have maintained grade point averages above 3.5, while performing community service throughout their high school careers.

The Rotary Club of Greater Flint Sunrise has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships and grants since 1992.

Proceeds from the Club’s annual golf outing, held in July of each year, fund the scholarships given to worthy students the following year

The Rotary International motto, Service Above Self, is exemplified on the local level through philanthropic and community service throughout greater Flint.
