CROSS COUNTRY

BOYS: The Cavaliers ran in the 33rd Annual Chesaning Invite last Thursday, finishing 16th with 404 points out of 18 teams. Ann Arbor Huron was first with 34, Pewamo-Westphalia was second with 88 and Mason was third with 102.

Joe Chinkeefatt led the Carman-Ainsworth boys, finishing 22nd in 18:23.26. Dalero McNeal was 85th in 20:54.74. Andre Williams was 101st in 22:11.02, Colin Smith was 104th in 22:15.00 and Keegan Maguffee was 107th in 22:34.58.

GIRLS: The Lady Cavs were ninth with 230 at the annual Chesaning Invite on Thursday out of 14 teams total. Pewamo-Westphalia was first with 47, Mason was second with 52 and Byron was third with 107.

Mikaiah Holbrook was the top Carman-Ainsworth girl, finishing 42nd in 23:49.62. Rayven Brantley was 50th in 24:25.86. Mikayla Holbrook was 53rd in 24:37.63, Priscilla Bradford was 55th in 24:44.98 and Ayanna Massey was 68th in 25:53.45.

Carman-Ainsworth is at the 35th Annual Linden Classic on Saturday. – K.R.

GOLF

The Cavaliers competed in their second Saginaw Valley League cluster of the season on Tuesday, finishing in sixth with a team-total 293 at Riverwood Golf Course. Midland Dow was first with a 171, Flint Powers Catholic was second with a 196, Saginaw Heritage placed third with a 210, Midland was fourth with a 215 and Mt. Pleasant was fifth with a 221.

Carman-Ainsworth was led by Jamie Arnold, who carded a 62. Payton Dixon followed with a 70, Malaysha Cooper shot an 80, Arlana Milow carded an 81 and Michaela Hitchcock and Serenity Cooper both carded a pair of 82s.

Last Wednesday, Carman- Ainsworth was at Flushing Valley for its first Saginaw Valley League cluster. The Cavaliers shot a 280 while Flint Powers took first with a 188. Bay City Central was second with a 205, Bay City Western third with a 214 and Bay City John Glenn fourth with a 256.

Dixon led the way, carding a 64. Arnold shot a 67, Kennedy Mitchell had a 69 and Hitchcock carded an 80.

Carman-Ainsworth was at Flint Powers on Wednesday after press deadlines and is scheduled to play in the SVL championship this upcoming Wednesday at the Fortress in Frankenmuth. – A.V.
