Carman-Ainsworth took three players to the Genesee County Meet on Tuesday, one short of the required number to post a team score. Haywood Petty led the Cavaliers with a 77 on a difficult Sugarbush course in Davison. Alex Frank shot 113 and Brad Woolard carded 122. — D.N.


It was a dominant performance for the Lady Cavs on Monday, hosting Goodrich in non-conference action and taking a 6-2 win. J’Lynn Corder won at No. 1 Singles over Mikayla Green, 6-0, 6-0, and Cionna Orr fell at No. 2 Singles to Morgan Foster, 4-6, 2-6. At No. 3 Singles, Ashley Whidbee picked up the win over Ashley Kelsey Holt, 6-2, 6-3, before Ashliegh King topped Kosten Mullere at No. 4 Singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Breanna Hudson/Hunter McFadden were victorious at No. 1 Doubles over Callie Johnson/Rachel Olefke, 6-2, 6-1, and Breanna Hughes/Sarah Hyde won at No. 2 Doubles over Brooke Defoe/Abby Lederman, 6-0, 6-2. Neither school had a No. 3 or No. 4 Doubles team, awarding a victory to each school.

The Lady Cavaliers headed over to Davison on Thursday for a Saginaw Valley League-South match with their longtime foes, drawing even, 4-4. Corder won at No. 1 Singles over Kami Decker, 6-0, 6-2, while Orr fell to Aubri Smith at No. 2 Singles, 0-6, 1- 6. Rachel Alexander pulled out the win at No. 3 Singles over Lina Harjans, 6- 4, 6-3, and King was victorious over Raquel Spence at No. 4 Singles, 6-4, 6- 3.

Hyde/Whitney Reynolds took the win in No. 1 Doubles over Kylie Decker/Jasmyn Reed, 6-4, 7-5, while Christina Berry/Kayla Davis dropped the No. 2 Doubles match to Abby Hauch/Kali Homes, 2-6, 1-6. Taylor McFadden/Whidbee lost at No. 3 Doubles to Kara Barkman/Ciara Fromwiller, 5-6, 6-7 (2-7), and Hudson/Hunter McFadden fell to Allison Davis/Megan George at No. 4 Doubles, 4-6, 2-6. — B.P.


The Cavaliers hosted the annual Jon Runyan Classic on Friday with the boys finishing in first with 92 points and the girls coming in eighth with 16.5 points. Individual results were still being worked on as we went to press on Wednesday. — B.P.
