GOLF

The Carman-Ainsworth boys’ golf team competed at the first Saginaw Valley League meet of the season last Wednesday at Metamora Golf and Country Club, placing 11th with a 473. Flint Powers Catholic finished first overall with a 323, Lapeer was second with a 335 and Saginaw Heritage was third with 353. Midland was fourth with 375, Midland Dow fifth with 377, Davison sixth with 400, Bay City John Glenn seventh with 418, Bay City Western eighth with 419, Mt. Pleasant ninth with 433 and Bay City Central 10th with 470.

John Karbowski led the Cavs with a 92. Jalen Stewart added a 117, Griffin Rousseau had a 125 and Aaron Carter had a 139.

Carman-Ainsworth was at the PohlCat on Wednesday and is at Atlas Valley on Monday. – A.V.

SOCCER

The Lady Cavs fell to Mt. Pleasant 9-1 on Monday. Destinee Lester had Carman-Ainsworth’s lone goal on a helper from Nisreen Shukairy. Crista Young recorded nine saves in net.

Last Wednesday, Carman-Ainsworth shut out Flint 9-0.

Lester led the scoring effort with three goals. La’Angel Eubanks, Myracle Palmer, Kya Yearby, Iman Shah, Brianna Walker and Shukairy netted one goal each. Taniya Boggan had two assists and Kelly Bowie had one. Taylor Williams and Jasia Caldwell combined for the shutout.

Carman-Ainsworth was at Bay City John Glenn on Wednesday and will be at Bay City Western on Monday. – K.R.
