SWIM AND DIVE

The Cavaliers knocked off Swartz Creek at home on Tuesday, 98-77, before they traveled to Bay City Western on Friday for a triangular with the host Warriors as well as Midland. The Cavaliers went on to trounce both of their Saginaw Valley League rivals, topping Bay City Western, 105-78 and topping Midland, 93-92.

Tyler Pangerl, David Burkhardt, Zak Wilkins and Cody McDonald won the 200- yard medley relay in 1:52.11 while Evan Snyder placed second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.65. Wilkins took victory in the 200-yard IM in 2:19.06 with Pangerl behind him in second in 2:21.11.

Cody McDonald came out on top of the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in 24.65 before winning the 100-yard freestyle in 1:01.56 and David Parker placed third in the 1-meter diving in 132.3. Burkhardt took second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.87 and CJ Ratliff was second in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:01.56.

Snyder finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:42.96 and the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Burkhardt, Snyder, Johnny Donnelly and Andrew Bassinger was second in 1:42.52. Pangerl was victorious in the 100- yard backstroke in 1:01.80, as was Wilkins in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.18.

Carman-Ainsworth’s Malik Dawkins and the Cavaliers will compete at the Genesee County Meet at Davison on Saturday.

Wyatt Pangerl placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:18.51 and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of McDonald, Snyder, Bassinger and Tyler Pangerl took second in 3:47.73.

Carman-Ainsworth will now travel to Kearsley today. — B.P.
